This Privacy Policy explains how ScrollKick (“ScrollKick,” “the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the ScrollKick iOS application. ScrollKick is operated by the developer identified on the app’s App Store product page.
1. OVERVIEW
ScrollKick is an iOS application designed to help users reduce distracting app usage, manage screen time, create blocking rules, and build healthier digital habits.
ScrollKick does not require you to create a ScrollKick account.
The app is designed primarily around on-device processing. We do not sell personal data, display third-party advertising, or track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
2. SCREEN TIME AND FAMILY CONTROLS
After you grant permission through iOS, ScrollKick uses Apple’s Screen Time technologies, including Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings.
These technologies allow ScrollKick to:
• let you select apps or categories to manage;
• apply blocking rules, schedules, and usage limits;
• display Screen Time information within the app;
• monitor configured usage thresholds;
• temporarily remove and later restore restrictions after an unlock flow.
Screen Time information is processed on your device by ScrollKick and its app extensions using Apple-provided frameworks.
ScrollKick does not operate a developer-controlled server that receives your raw Screen Time history or your selected app and category information.
Apple may represent selected apps and categories using privacy-preserving identifiers or tokens rather than directly exposing their identities to the developer.
You can revoke Screen Time authorization through the settings available on your device. Revoking authorization may prevent core ScrollKick features from working.
3. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
ScrollKick may store information locally on your device or within its shared Apple App Group container, including:
• selected apps, categories, or related Apple-provided tokens;
• blocking schedules and daily limits;
• blocking levels and difficulty settings;
• temporary unlock sessions;
• Strict Mode and Locked Mode preferences;
• reminder and notification preferences;
• onboarding progress;
• Kick Points and other progress information;
• purchase or entitlement status needed to determine access to paid features;
• locally cached summary information needed to display app features;
• other settings required for ScrollKick to function.
This information is used only to provide ScrollKick’s features, apply your selected rules, and restore your settings between app launches.
Local information generally remains on your device until you change or reset the relevant settings or delete the app, subject to normal iOS system behavior and any device backups controlled through your Apple Account.
4. NOTIFICATIONS
With your permission, ScrollKick may generate local notifications related to features you enable, such as usage reminders, blocking events, or unlock-flow prompts.
You can manage or revoke notification permission at any time through the iOS Settings app.
ScrollKick does not use notifications for third-party advertising.
5. PURCHASES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
ScrollKick may offer optional paid features, subscriptions, free trials, or other in-app purchases through Apple’s App Store.
Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple Account.
ScrollKick does not receive or store your complete payment-card details.
The app may receive transaction, subscription, trial, refund, and entitlement information from Apple when necessary to determine whether paid access is active. ScrollKick may store the resulting access status locally on your device.
Purchase and subscription records maintained by Apple are governed by your Apple Account and Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
6. SUPPORT COMMUNICATIONS
If you contact ScrollKick Support by email, we may receive information that you voluntarily provide, including your email address, message content, and any attachments you choose to send.
We use this information only to respond to your request, provide support, troubleshoot problems, protect against abuse, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Support communications may be processed by Google, which provides the email service used by ScrollKick Support, according to Google’s own terms and privacy practices.
Support messages are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request, maintain appropriate support records, protect the app and its users, or comply with applicable law.
You may request deletion of support communications by contacting us at the email address listed below, unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.
7. ANALYTICS, DIAGNOSTICS, ADVERTISING, AND TRACKING
ScrollKick does not currently integrate third-party analytics SDKs, third-party advertising SDKs, or data-broker services.
ScrollKick does not sell personal data.
ScrollKick does not use personal data to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
ScrollKick does not send Screen Time information or other app data to third-party artificial intelligence services.
Apple may provide developers with aggregated App Store, sales, subscription, performance, crash, or diagnostic information through Apple’s developer services. When such information is available, it may be used to diagnose technical problems, improve app stability, and understand general app performance.
Crash or diagnostic information provided by Apple may depend on your device settings and whether you have chosen to share analytics with Apple and app developers.
8. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
We do not share Screen Time information with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
Information may be processed by Apple when necessary to provide iOS system functions, Screen Time frameworks, notifications, App Store purchases, subscriptions, diagnostics, or other Apple services.
Information you voluntarily send to ScrollKick Support may be processed by our email service provider as described above.
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to:
• comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or a binding request from an authorized public authority;
• protect the rights, security, and integrity of ScrollKick, its users, or others;
• investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
Because ScrollKick is designed primarily around on-device processing, we may not possess the Screen Time or local app information being requested.
9. DATA RETENTION, DELETION, AND YOUR CHOICES
ScrollKick’s settings, selections, progress, and related operational information are primarily stored on your device.
You can remove or change local information by:
• changing or resetting settings within ScrollKick where those controls are available;
• revoking Screen Time authorization through your device settings;
• revoking notification permission through your device settings;
• deleting ScrollKick from your device.
Deleting the app generally removes information stored locally by ScrollKick, subject to normal iOS system behavior and any backups maintained through Apple services.
Purchase and subscription records maintained by Apple must be managed through your Apple Account and Apple’s services.
Because ScrollKick does not require a ScrollKick account and does not maintain a developer-operated server containing your Screen Time history, there is generally no separate server-side ScrollKick user profile to delete.
To request access to or deletion of information contained in support communications, contact us using the email address below.
10. SECURITY
ScrollKick uses the privacy and security protections provided by iOS and Apple’s Screen Time frameworks.
The app is designed to minimize external data collection and keep sensitive Screen Time processing on the device.
However, no method of electronic storage, transmission, or processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
ScrollKick is a general-audience application and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.
ScrollKick does not require a user account and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated server.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of device-management and Screen Time features where appropriate.
If you believe that a child has sent personal information to ScrollKick Support, contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete that information.
12. INTERNATIONAL USERS AND PRIVACY RIGHTS
ScrollKick may be available in multiple countries and regions.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights relating to personal data that we hold, such as the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection.
Because ScrollKick generally does not maintain server-side user profiles, these rights will usually apply only to information you voluntarily provide through support communications.
You may submit a privacy-related request using the contact email below. We may need to verify that the request relates to you before completing it.
Information processed independently by Apple or Google is governed by their respective privacy practices and must generally be managed through their services.
13. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when ScrollKick’s features, data practices, service providers, or legal obligations change.
The revised policy will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be changed.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially changing how personal data is handled.
