Scroll Detox (“the App”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a digital wellbeing and screen-time management application designed to help users build healthier phone habits. Scroll Detox is designed with privacy first: all personal data stays on your device unless explicitly stated. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties.

Scroll Detox only collects information necessary for providing core functionalities such as screen-time tracking, app blocking, health score calculation, and analytics shown inside the App.
All data is processed locally on your device unless stated otherwise.

• Daily phone pickups

• App opening events

This data is accessed via Usage Access permissions and Accessibility Services, and is stored locally on your device.

1.2 App Blocking Events

To enforce your rules (e.g., Immediate Blocking, Time Limits, Scheduled Blocks), we monitor:

• When a blocked app is opened

• When time limits are exceeded

This data never leaves your device.

1.3 Health Score Calculations

Your daily wellness score (0–100) is computed using:

• Screen time

• Number of pickups

• Rule usage patterns

1.4 Data Usage Information (Optional)

If enabled, the App may collect:

• WiFi data usage per app

• Mobile/cellular data usage per app
  
  

Collected using Android’s Network APIs and stored locally on your device.

1.5 Widgets & Notifications

The App may temporarily store:

• Basic screen-time stats

• Health score

Used only to display widgets and send gentle reminders.

1.6 Crash Logs (Optional)

If you enable crash reporting (e.g., via Play Store’s built-in reporting tools), anonymized crash information may be sent automatically to help improve the app.
This data never contains personal information.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Scroll Detox does NOT collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal messages

• Photos, videos, camera data

• Contacts or call logs

• Browsing history

• Device identifiers or advertising IDs (unless required by Google Play services)

• Location data

• Account credentials

• Keystrokes or typed content

We do not monitor the content of apps you use.
We only detect which app is currently open, not what you do inside it.

3. Accessibility Services Disclosure

Scroll Detox uses Accessibility Services solely to:

• Detect which app is opened

• Activate blocking overlays

We do not use Accessibility Services to read, collect, or transmit your personal data, messages, or content from other apps.

This permission is strictly for wellbeing purposes and blocking distracting apps at your request.

4. How We Use Your Information

All information we collect is used directly on your device for:

• Screen time tracking

• App blocking

• Health score computation

• Data usage analytics

• Displaying widgets

• Showing progress over time

We do not share or send your data to any third-party server.

5. Local Storage

Scroll Detox stores all collected data in a secure, local database on your device.
If you uninstall the App, all data is deleted permanently.

6. Third-Party Services

Scroll Detox may use Google Play Services (e.g., for crash reports or billing, if used).
These services follow Google’s privacy policies and operate independently.

We do not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs that collect personal data.

7. Advertising and Monetization

Scroll Detox may show optional ads only when a user chooses to watch an ad to unlock additional blocking rules.

• Ads are delivered through Google or similar ad networks.

• Ad networks may collect non-personal identifiers as part of their standard operation.

You can choose to not watch ads—core features remain functional.

8. Children’s Privacy

Scroll Detox is suitable for users of all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Parents may configure app-blocking rules for children’s devices if they choose.

We take privacy and security seriously.
We protect your information using:

• On-device encrypted storage where supported

• No remote servers

• No personal data transmission

• View all your collected data inside the App

• Delete all app data by uninstalling the App

• Reset statistics at any time from settings
