Information we Collect

ScrollDetox does not collect, store, sell, or track your personal information or browsing history. All video detection, blocking decisions, and usage statistics operate entirely locally on your device. All core blocker functionality operates entirely on your device without requiring an internet connection (internet is only used if you choose to watch an optional rewarded ad for a Day Off).

No account creation is required to use ScrollDetox.

Permissions & How They Are Used

The app uses Android Accessibility Services, Foreground Service, and Notification Permissions solely to provide its core functionality.

The Accessibility Service is used to:

• Detect supported short-form content screens (YouTube Shorts & Instagram Reels).

• Navigates away from these screens when limits or focus modes are active.

• All processing occurs entirely locally on your device. Screen content, messages, keystrokes, and personal data are NEVER collected, stored, or transmitted to external servers.

The Foreground Service is used to:

• Ensures reliable background protection so the Android operating system does not unexpectedly terminate the blocker.

The Notification Permission is used to:

• Displays your active protection status in the notification drawer.

•  Allows you to monitor or end Break Mode directly from the notification.

Third-Party Services & Advertising

ScrollDetox utilizes Google AdMob to deliver opt-in rewarded video ads when a user chooses to unlock a Day Off:

Google AdMob:

•  May process non-sensitive device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID), IP address, and ad interaction data to serve ads in compliance with Google's Advertising Policies.

•   You can manage or reset your Advertising ID anytime via your phone's Settings > Google > Ads.

Voluntary Feedback

If you voluntarily submit feedback or feature requests through the app, only the text you explicitly provide is sent to us to help improve the app.

Children's Privacy

ScrollDetox does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
