ScriptSearch values your privacy. This policy explains how ScriptSearch collects,
uses, and protects your information. The short version? We don't sell or share your
data, we don't track you, and your study happens on your device.
ScriptSearch collects limited personal information only when you choose to sign in
using your Apple ID. This may include your name and email address as provided by
Apple. This data is used solely to authenticate your account and is never sold,
shared, or used for tracking or advertising.
If you enable the optional cloud backup feature, your notes are securely stored on
Google Firebase servers to allow cross-device syncing and backup. Cloud storage is
optional and can be disabled at any time in the app settings. When cloud backup is
disabled, your notes stored in the cloud can be deleted at your request.
ScriptSearch's study features — including Bible search, connection search, word
study (Greek/Hebrew), and your notes — run entirely on your device. The Bible text,
lexicons, and reference data are bundled within the app, and this information is
processed locally. None of your searches, notes, or study activity are sent to us or
to any third party for these features.
If you choose to support ScriptSearch through a donation or subscription (in-app
purchase), the transaction is securely processed through Apple's App Store.
ScriptSearch does not receive or store any of your payment information. All billing
is managed by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
ScriptSearch uses the following third-party services strictly for app functionality
(not for advertising or analytics):
• Apple Sign-In — account authentication.
• Firebase Authentication and Firebase Firestore — managing login state and, if
cloud backup is enabled, securely storing your notes.
• Firebase (group features) — if you join or create a study group, the content you
choose to share and your group messages are stored to enable that feature.
You can optionally enable daily notifications, such as the Verse of the Day.
Notification permissions are controlled by you and can be changed at any time in
your device settings.
ScriptSearch does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The app is suitable for users of all ages and complies with applicable child
privacy laws.
If this policy ever changes, we'll update the effective date and describe what's new.
