ScriptSearch values your privacy. This policy explains how ScriptSearch collects, uses, and protects your information. The short version? We don’t collect or share your data — at all.
ScriptSearch collects limited personal information when you choose to sign in using your Apple ID. This may include your name and email address as provided by Apple. This data is used solely to authenticate your account and is not shared or used for tracking.
If you choose to use the AI-powered chat feature, the text you input is sent to OpenAI’s API to generate responses. We do not store this data, and we recommend users avoid sharing personal or sensitive information in the chat.
Additionally, if you enable the optional cloud backup feature, your notes are securely stored on Google Firebase servers to allow cross-device syncing and backup. Cloud storage is optional and can be disabled at any time in the app settings. When cloud backup is disabled, existing notes in the cloud can be deleted at your request.
If you choose to support ScriptSearch via a donation (in-app purchase), the transaction is securely processed through Apple’s App Store. ScriptSearch does not receive or store any of your payment information.
All billing and payment information is managed by Apple and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
ScriptSearch offers an AI-powered chat feature, which is available to subscribers. This feature uses OpenAI’s API (via a secure HTTPS connection) to generate topical Bible references based on your input.
Any questions or prompts entered into the chat are sent to OpenAI’s servers for processing. While ScriptSearch does not store or log this data, OpenAI may process it in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
We recommend you avoid submitting personal, sensitive, or confidential information in the chat.
ScriptSearch uses the following third-party services:
Apple Sign-In for account authentication.
OpenAI API to provide the AI-powered chat experience.
Firebase Authentication and Firebase Firestore for managing login state and, if cloud backup is enabled, securely storing your notes.
These services are used strictly for app functionality (authentication and data backup), not for advertising or analytics.
Users can optionally enable daily notifications for the Verse of the Day. Notification permissions are controlled by the user and can be changed at any time in device settings.
ScriptSearch does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is safe for users of all ages and complies with applicable child privacy laws.
If this policy ever changes, we’ll update the effective date and describe what’s new. You can always find the most current version inside the app or on our support website.
