Our newsletter for members gives specific details each month about our programs and activities. Here is a sampling of some of our current activities. A new group may be formed at any time.
General Meetings meet monthly with a speaker or an activity. Topics include health, authors, community information and performances--usually musical.
Coffees meet nearly every month at a member's home. This casual get-together offers a great opportunity to make new friends and keep in contact with acquaintances.
Gadabouts and Luncheons gather monthly to explore interesting locations ranging from museums to unique restaurants. The lunch is pre-arranged with reservations and combines excellent cuisine with lively conversation.
Book Discussion Groups meet in members' homes for lively discussions and refreshments. The books are chosen in advance: classics, best sellers, biographies--an eclectic and stimulating array. There are five active Welcome Club book groups--the newest group was formed to accommodate new members, contact us for how to join or more information.
Bunco Groups get together both evenings and afternoons. All offer laughter and camaraderie.
Bridge meets monthly in the afternoon in people's homes.
Craft participants put their talents to use creating a variety of items from centerpieces to sun catchers. You don't have to be crafty to enjoy the fun and friendship.
Hiking Group explores the surrounding areas. Hikes may be urban, beach or established hiking trails. The distance is 3 to 5 miles.
Summer Supper is a July highlight. The venue may be a garden party or a local restaurant. Delicious salads, raffles, and a theme such as "Flamingle" or "Aloha" make this one of the most popular events of the year.
The Theatre Group supports the local Scripps Ranch Theatre's annual season. Members enjoy a pre-theatre party and sit together at the theatre. Special arrangements also allow season ticket holders to participate.
T.G.I.s do not have to be on Fridays! They are a casual evening get-together for singles and couples at members' homes. Often there is a theme, such as "Cinco de Mayo" or "Octoberfest."
