Scribbr does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to create citations.
Citation history, saved citations, and bibliography information may be stored locally on your device so you can access them later.
2. Internet Connectivity
Some features, such as automatically retrieving information about websites, books, journals, videos, and other sources, require an internet connection.
When these features are used, source information such as a URL, DOI, or ISBN may be sent to third-party services in order to retrieve citation metadata.
3. Camera and Text Scanning
Scribbr may request access to your device's camera for scanning text or book barcodes/ISBNs.
Camera access is only used when you choose to use a scanning feature. Scribbr does not use the camera in the background.
4. Third-Party Services
Scribbr may communicate with third-party services to retrieve publicly available citation information. These services may process technical information according to their own privacy policies.
5. Data Sharing and Selling
Scribbr does not sell your personal information.
We do not share personal information for advertising purposes.
6. Saved Data
Citation history and saved citations may be stored on your device. You can remove saved information using the available delete or clear options in Scribbr.
Deleting Scribbr may also remove information stored locally by the app.

We may update this Privacy Policy when Scribbr's features or privacy practices change. Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
