The App uses your device camera to capture photos of fasteners (such as screws, bolts, nuts, and washers) for identification purposes. These photos are securely transmitted to our AI processing service, processed in real time to provide identification results, and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing is complete.
If you choose to save a scan, the image and its results are stored locally on your device as part of your scan history.
When you purchase a subscription (Weekly or Lifetime), we use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat may collect:
Purchase history
Subscription status
App Store transaction receipts
Anonymous app user identifiers
All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store your credit card details, billing address, or other financial information.
We may collect anonymous usage information, including:
App usage statistics (such as features used and session duration)

App performance data (such as crash reports and load times)
Language and region settings

Screw Identifier does not collect, use, store, or share any face data.
The App does not use the TrueDepth camera, Face ID, ARKit face tracking, or any facial recognition technology.
The device camera is used solely to capture photos of fasteners (such as screws, bolts, nuts, and washers) for identification purposes. ARKit is used only for the AR Ruler feature to measure real-world distances using world tracking. No facial information is required for any feature of the App.
If a user's face is accidentally visible in a photo taken for identification, it is not detected, analyzed, extracted, stored, or retained. Images are processed only to identify fasteners and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing is complete.
No face data is ever collected, processed, transmitted, shared, or retained by the App.
We use the collected information to:
Provide AI-powered fastener identification
Manage subscriptions
Improve app functionality and performance
Provide customer support
Maintain and secure the App

Photos are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers.
Scan history remains on your device until you delete it.
Subscription-related information is retained by RevenueCat according to its own privacy policy.
Anonymous analytics data may be retained for up to 24 months.

Delete your scan history within the App.
Disable analytics (if available) in the App settings.
Cancel your subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings.

The App is rated 4+ and is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
