In April 2026 a short parent poll was created to gather community perspectives on technology use in Montgomery Township schools.
The poll was created after observing that some children may have more difficulty focusing on certain types of schoolwork, such as math, when it is completed on a computer rather than on paper. The goal was not to oppose technology, but to better understand how local parents feel about the current balance between digital tools and traditional learning methods.
The poll also referenced broader discussions happening in other places, including European efforts to reconsider the role of screens and return to more pen-and-paper learning in some settings. The purpose was to ask whether our district should also have a thoughtful conversation about age-appropriate technology use.
The poll asked one required question:
What is your view on the current level of technology use in our schools?
Parents could choose from the following responses:
I prefer less technology use across all grades
I prefer less technology use in the lower grades, but I’m comfortable with it in the upper grades
I think the current approach is appropriate and doesn’t need changes

Thank you to everyone who has already shared their perspective. The results show that this topic matters to many families in our district.
We are still looking for more parent input. If you have not responded yet, please take a moment to complete the poll and share your view.
