INTRODUCTION
ScreenSafe — Privacy Guard ("ScreenSafe", "we", "our",
or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application
("App") handles information when you use it on your
Android or iOS device.
ScreenSafe is designed with a "Privacy First"
architecture. Our core principle is simple:
Privacy First Design
ScreenSafe is designed to operate primarily on your device.
We do not sell, rent, share, or use your personal information for advertising, profiling, or tracking purposes.
All face detection processing is performed locally on your device. Camera frames are processed in real time and are not transmitted to our servers.
If you enable optional features such as Intruder Photo Capture or Trusted Faces, the related data is stored only on your device and is not uploaded to ScreenSafe servers.
We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, third-party trackers, or behavioral profiling systems.
We do not access your messages, emails, contacts, call logs, photos, social media content, banking information, or notification content.
Your data remains under your control and can be deleted at any time from within the app or by uninstalling the application.
If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.
1. WHAT DATA WE COLLECT
1.1 Data We DO NOT Collect
ScreenSafe does NOT collect any of the following:
• Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
• Your phone number or device identifiers
• Your location or GPS data
• Any images or video from your camera
• Your messages, notifications, or chat content
• Your browsing history or usage patterns
• Your contacts or address book
• Any biometric data
• Any financial information
• Crash reports or analytics
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID)
• Usage statistics or session data
1.2 Data That Stays ONLY On Your Device
ScreenSafe stores the following data
locally on your device only.
This data NEVER leaves your device:
• App settings and preferences
(stored in local Hive database)
• Intruder detection log entries
(date, time, face count, context)
(stored locally, maximum 100 entries)
• Intruder photos (Premium feature only)
(saved in your device's private app folder only)
(you can delete these anytime from Settings)
• Trusted face templates (Premium feature only)
(mathematical face representation stored locally)
(NOT actual photos — only numeric vectors)
(stored in local encrypted Hive database)
• Subscription status cache
(cached locally for offline access only)
1.3 Camera Permission
ScreenSafe uses the front camera only while privacy protection features are active inside the application.
Camera data is processed locally on the device for face detection purposes.
No video recordings are created.
No camera data is transmitted to ScreenSafe servers.
Images are only saved if the user explicitly enables optional Intruder Photo Capture functionality.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Since we do not collect personal data,
we have no user data to use, process, or analyze.
The App functions entirely locally on your device:
• Face detection runs on-device using
Google ML Kit (offline, no API calls)
• Intruder logs are read and written
only on your local device storage
• Settings are saved and read from
your local device storage only
• Trusted face templates are computed
and stored locally on your device only
3. INTERNET AND NETWORK USAGE
ScreenSafe requires minimal internet access.
3.1 The ONLY network connection ScreenSafe makes is:
Google Play Billing (Subscription Processing)
• Purpose: To process subscription purchases, verify subscription status, and restore purchases when requested by the user.
• What is shared: Purchase information and transaction details required by Google Play for payment processing and subscription management.
• What is NOT shared: Camera data, face detection data, intruder photos, trusted face templates, logs, messages, contacts, or any app usage data.
• Payment processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

3.2 ScreenSafe does NOT connect to:
• Any ScreenSafe server or database
• Any analytics platform (no Google Analytics,
Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
• Any advertising network
• Any social media platform
• Any crash reporting service (no Crashlytics,
Sentry, etc.)
• Any machine learning API (all AI runs offline)
> Trusted Faces
If the user chooses to enable Trusted Faces, ScreenSafe may store locally generated face templates on the device.
These templates are mathematical representations used for on-device recognition and are not shared with ScreenSafe or any third party.
Users may delete Trusted Faces at any time from the application settings.
3.3 Offline Usage
ScreenSafe works completely offline for all
core features:
• Face detection: fully offline
• Intruder logging: fully offline
• Notification privacy: fully offline
• Settings: fully offline
• Trusted faces: fully offline
Only subscription verification requires internet.
If no internet, the app uses your last known
cached subscription status.

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
ScreenSafe uses the following third-party
technologies:
4.1 Google ML Kit Face Detection
• Purpose: On-device face detection only
• Data sharing: NONE — runs 100% locally
• No data is sent to Google for face detection

4.2 Google Play Billing (Android)
• Purpose: Subscription and payment processing
• Data sharing: Only information required for purchase verification and subscription management
• Camera data, photos, logs, trusted faces, and face detection data are never shared

4.3 Apple In-App Purchases (iOS)
• Purpose: Payment processing
• Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy

No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
are included in ScreenSafe.

5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
5.1 Where Your Data is Stored
All app data is stored exclusively on your device
in the app's private storage directory:
• Android: /data/data/com.screensafe.privacyguard/
• iOS: App sandbox private directory
This directory is:
• Not accessible by other apps
• Not backed up to iCloud or Google Drive
by default (app data backup is disabled)
• Deleted permanently when you uninstall the app
5.2 Security
• All local data is stored in Hive database
with device-level protection
• Intruder photos are stored in the app's
private documents directory
• Trusted face templates are stored as
mathematical vectors, not actual face images
• No passwords or encryption keys are
stored or transmitted
5.3 Data Retention
• Intruder logs: Maximum 100 entries
(oldest automatically deleted)
• Intruder photos: Stored until you delete them
• Trusted faces: Stored until you remove them
• Settings: Stored until app is uninstalled
• ALL data deleted when you uninstall the app

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
ScreenSafe is not directed to children
under the age of 13 (or equivalent minimum
age in relevant jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect any personal
information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe
your child has used ScreenSafe, please note
that no personal data is collected by our app.

7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Since ScreenSafe does not collect your personal
data on any server, most traditional data rights
(access, portability, erasure from servers)
do not apply in the traditional sense.
However, you have full control over your local data:
7.1 Delete Intruder Logs
Go to: Settings → Data & Storage → Clear All Logs
This permanently deletes all logs from your device.
7.2 Delete Intruder Photos
Go to: Settings → Data & Storage → Clear All Photos
This permanently deletes all captured photos.
7.3 Delete Trusted Faces
Go to: Settings → Trusted Faces → Delete Each Face
This removes all face templates from your device.
7.4 Reset All Settings
Go to: Settings → Reset All Settings to Default
7.5 Delete All Data
Simply uninstall ScreenSafe. All local data is
permanently deleted from your device.
7.6 Cancel Subscription
Manage via Google Play Store or Apple App Store
subscription settings.

8. PERMISSIONS WE REQUEST
8.1 Camera Permission (Required)
• Why: To detect faces using your front camera
• When used: Only when Shield is active
• What we do: Real-time face detection on-device
• What we do NOT do: Record, save, or upload video
8.2 Notification Permission (Required)
• Why: To send you silent alerts when a stranger
is detected looking at your screen
• What we send: Local notifications only
(no data from notifications is collected)
8.3 Display Over Other Apps / Overlay (Android, Optional)
• Why: To show privacy shield overlay
on top of other apps
• This does NOT allow us to read your screen content
8.4 Foreground Service (Android)
• Why: To keep face detection running
while app is in use
• No background data collection occurs
8.5 Receive Boot Completed (Android, Optional)
• Why: To restart shield after device reboot
if Start on Boot is enabled

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be posted on our website and
updated within the app.
The "Last Updated" date at the top of this
policy will be revised accordingly.
Your continued use of ScreenSafe after any
changes constitutes acceptance of the
updated Privacy Policy.
