These terms and conditions and privacy policy govern the use of the Screen Machine Translator app (hereby referred to as the "Application") for mobile devices, created by RETRO FORGE (hereby referred to as the "Service Provider").
Upon downloading or utilizing the Application, you are automatically agreeing to the following terms. It is strongly advised that you thoroughly read and understand these terms prior to using the Application.
Unauthorized copying or modification of the Application, any part of the Application, or our trademarks is strictly prohibited. Any attempts to extract the source code of the Application, translate the Application into other languages, or create derivative versions are not permitted. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider.
The Service Provider is dedicated to ensuring that the Application is as beneficial and efficient as possible. The Service Provider reserves the right to modify the Application or charge for services at any time. Any charges for the Application or its services (including virtual tokens) will be clearly communicated.
Unlike applications that process text entirely locally, this Application relies on advanced cloud-based Artificial Intelligence to provide highly accurate translations.
Cloud Transmission: When you request a translation, the Application captures the relevant screen content, converts it into a securely encoded format (Base64), and transmits it to our backend servers hosted on Google Cloud.
AI Processing: The image data is securely processed using the Google Gemini API (gemini-3.1-flash-lite) to detect and translate text.
No Image Archiving: We do not store, archive, or build databases of your screen images. Images are processed ephemerally in the server's memory solely to generate the translation and are discarded immediately afterward.
User Profile Data: We collect and store minimal user account data to manage your virtual tokens, which includes a secure User ID, your designated country code to determine appropriate reward tiers, and your current token balances.
The Application requires the use of Accessibility Services and/or Media Projection permissions to detect and capture text displayed on your screen.
Explicit Usage: Screen capturing only occurs when actively triggered by the user for translation purposes.
User Control: You may revoke Accessibility Services or Media Projection permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking these permissions will disable screen translation functionality.
To optimize performance and prevent you from being charged multiple times for translating the exact same screen, we utilize a temporary caching system:
Cryptographic Hashing: When an image is processed, our servers create a secure mathematical fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of the image buffer and your target language.
Temporary Text Cache: The resulting translated text and bounding box coordinates are securely cached in our database under this hash for exactly 48 hours.
Automatic Deletion: After the 48-hour expiration period, the cached translation text is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers.
Audit Logs: We temporarily retain transaction logs of your translation requests (including timestamps and tokens deducted) to process refunds in the event of a timeout or server error.
The Application operates on a virtual token economy. Each successful translation consumes a dynamic rate of tokens.
Acquiring Tokens: Tokens can be earned for free by watching advertisements via AdMob (including single ads or multi-ad bundles based on your region), or purchased directly via Google Play Billing in packs of 500 or 1200 tokens.
Server-Side Verification: Ad rewards and purchases are strictly verified by our servers (AdMob SSV and Google Play API) to prevent fraud and ensure proper token crediting.
No Real-World Value: Virtual tokens have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and can only be used within the Application.
Refunds: If a translation request fails or times out, our system automatically refunds the exact mix of AdMob and purchased tokens deducted for that request. All direct in-app purchases of virtual tokens are handled by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's standard refund policies
The Application uses third-party services to support on-device functionality, cloud AI processing, analytics, and monetization. These providers may collect limited diagnostic or device information in accordance with their respective privacy policies:
Google Gemini API: Processes screen images ephemerally in server memory to provide cloud-based text translation.
Google ML Kit: Provides on-device, offline text recognition and translation. Screen content processed via ML Kit remains strictly on your device and is never uploaded.
Google Play Services & Google Play Billing: Manages app authentication, security integrity, and in-app purchase verification.
Google Cloud / Firebase (Firestore & Cloud Functions): Manages user account tokens, temporary 48-hour text caching, and automated reward verification.
Google AdMob: Delivers rewarded advertising, verifies ad completion server-side, and manages monetization.

Some functions of the Application require an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile network). The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function at full capacity due to a lack of internet access or if you have exhausted your data allowance. By using the Application outside of a Wi-Fi area, you accept responsibility for any mobile provider data charges, including roaming data charges.
The Service Provider strives to ensure the Application is updated and accurate at all times, but relies on third parties (like AI APIs) to provide information. The Service Provider accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience as a result of relying entirely on the translation functionality of the Application.
The Service Provider reserves the right to update, modify, or discontinue the Application at any time. Operating system requirements may change, requiring you to download updates to continue using the service. The Service Provider may terminate your access to the Application at any time without prior notice. Upon termination, all licenses and rights granted to you under these Terms immediately cease, and you must discontinue all use and delete the Application from your device.
Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability The Application and all translations are provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Text detection and translations are powered by automated third-party machine learning models and artificial intelligence (including Google Cloud AI and on-device ML frameworks). Machine translation is inherently subject to inaccuracies, context misinterpretations, and omissions.
The Service Provider makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of any translated content. You acknowledge that the Application must not be relied upon for critical, legal, medical, emergency, or financial decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Application.
Changes to These Terms and Conditions
The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms and Conditions. You are advised to review this page regularly for any changes. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms and Conditions on this page.
