Franklin Public Schools invites you and your families
Wednesday, December 9, 2026 from 6-8pm, Franklin High School Auditorium
Please use discretion when deciding to bring your children to the screening as the film addresses topics suitable for more mature viewers. It is recommended for viewers age 11 and older.
Screenagers: Generation AI is the fifth film from the team behind the acclaimed Screenagers documentary series. Like other films in the series, Screenagers: Generation AI captures the critical moment we're in collectively as AI reshapes young people's relationships, learning, and mental health. The film weaves approachable science and personal experiences, and equips parents, educators, and communities with tools to actively shape how AI enters their schools and homes.

“Overall, I feel like this is your best film yet! I thought that it really captured the potential good as well as the harms and dangers of Gen AI both on mental health and learning.”

Event Details
The screening will start promptly at 6pm followed by a discussion by a panel of local experts with a Q&A. There will be opportunities to get involved in the community conversation and find resources for starting the conversation at home.
The goal of the event is to start the conversation in the community around the impacts and outcomes of AI, screentime and social media on our children and in our families. We hope to drive alignment and meaningful discussions among Franklin families and school administrators during uncharted digital times.
With enough need/interest we can assist with arranging Childcare for those in need. Click here to show your interest. (Film is not recommended for children younger than 11 years old)
We are gathering raffle items for the event. Please complete this form if you can contribute/sponsor donations for the raffles. We will reach out to coordinate.
This program is sponsored by Franklin Public Schools and brought to you via the Superintendent's Office and Kate Merten, Assistant Director of Innovation and Instructional Technology for Franklin Public Schools.
