How this online flashlight works? This site acts as an onscreen virtual strobe or flashlight by cycling through pure white and black screens.

You can also make this pure white or black with no screen text by going to our fullscreen option.

Silly, but I use it for monitor cleaning. It makes things on the screen obvious. :) I also use it to validate plain colour reproduction for different monitors, but that only comes up rarely and I'm not looking for professional colour grading.

I'm working on a animated sequence, and i'm doing it the traditional way (by hand), so i need a white surface with light that allows me to put one piece of paper over another and be able to see both, so since i don't have a professional screen for this, i'm using my computer and putting the white screen on it so i don't touch anything by mistake

While studying, I use 2 screens, one with a timer and one to search whatever I need on the internet. When I am not searching, I put the white screen so I don't get distracted with anything on the computer

Why can't I remove it? Why is it on lock screen, it's there in the control center, who even needs flashlight to be accessible from lock screen? I literally never turn on my flashlight, and once I had to pick something from under a couch, I forgot about the icon on lock screen and went to control center because that's where I expect it to be.

You might think it's stupid but I'm seriously considering just getting an android over iPhone now, because it's ridiculous and people think I'm doing some creepshots of them because I constantly just walk around with flashlight on.

Completely agree with you on that one. Got the Flip 3 a few days ago and would say that the widget panel has a lot of potential. Wouldn't even mind if the double press enabled the flashlight, while the camera was put in the widget menu.

Does anyone know of a legit flashlight app that does nothing except turn the screen fully white? 90% of the time, I just use the flashlight feature to navigate my home when the lights are off at night. I don't want to use the LED light, that's too bright. I just need something that gives me enough light to not stub my toes on the furniture.

It should not. I would not do such a thing, but a flashlight is vastly less intense than sunlight. One needs safety glasses to view an eclipse. No such need for flashlights. Still, I do not recommend it just to be sure.

I have tried a different screen , just a spare one that works , not the one that goes with this laptop , but have seen and other techs said the same that it didn't have to be exact , if it lights up , then it is the screen , I got the same results with the spare screen.

Yes, the backlight is not operating. If it was correct that the substitute screen was sufficiently similar that it should have operated, it looks like the drive to the backlight has failed. Depending on the design, it could be a mainboard fault, or there could be a backlight drive board hiding somewhere.

i have never ever have had a bad motherboard be the cause of a backlight being bad. especially when the image can be seen with a flash light. and "NO" not all connectors are the same from monitor to monitor. so i'm willing to bet you still have a bad screen.

Thanks DavisMcCam ; Also, Platypus ; I chatted with ASUS tonight checking to see if there was a backlight control board .. I had already been under the keyboard panel a couple of times , once just to check the connections making sure it was plugged in and or not damaged before getting the cable and again when I got the cable and I didn't see a board and would had thought it would had been where the cable plugged into ...but wanted to play it safe by asking .. was told that there was no control board, plus pulled up up multi pictures of this motherboard and went over it with a fine tooth comb checking / looking for a control board and could not find one, so it has to be the motherboard .again thanks that was a good thought .. Now Mightywiz ; the LVDS cable connector on the motherboard is JUST like any other connector on the motherboard that can go bad , and you have never seen a connector go bad on a motherboard? A surge , etc.. or just the board itself is going bad .. tho you are right not all monitor connectors are the same why I made sure to get the correct one to test with .. but as tons of other techs will tell you for testing all you need is the correct connector and if all it does is light up then you know it is the backlight / monitor , on my test screen it did the same and you could only see the background with a flashlight and with flashlight I could see the log on and not a burn in for I watch it go from screen to logon screen with flashlight if I had the wrong connector with the flashlight I would had seen nothing , but thanks for your suggestion .

Setting here thinking ,, what if... ??? what if it is both ?, the cable and the screen ? what if the cable went bad which sent a bad signal to the backlight and caused it too to go bad ? When I tested the spare screen it was on the org. cable before I had gotten the new cable and when I got the new cable I only tested it with the org. screen and not the test one . Just a thought ... so I guess I will be going back into it and plugging the new cable back up since I didn't leave the new one in it for I was going to either return it or hang on to it, and then testing with spare screen . wish me luck

Most of the times that I have seen a bad LVDS cable, the screen works if you get the cable in the right place and gets wacky if you change it. It, too is an uncommon problem though I have seen more bad cables than blown LED brightness circuits which is what I think you have going on. Most modern LED panels (not CCFL) use a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) circuit to control the brightness of the backlight. Unless you used a radically different LCD panel that the laptop could not identify, you've really completed the diagnosis in that it is not the LCD panel or the cable which leaves the system board as the only other possible problem and I would add that it would be outrageously rare for the cable to have damaged the panel itself.

Go on Youtube plug in make and model plus the issue, there might be some stuff about the screen up there. We know the power for the back lighting is coming through a common cable but where does that power come from, might be a fairly easy thing to tackle if you know what it is you just never know.

Hi everybody, just upgraded to Android 13 on my new FP4 and noticed that the shortcuts for the camera and flashlight have disappeared. Anybody having the same issue? And any idea how to get these shortcuts back to lockscreen?

Since updating my FP4 to Android 13 (C.073), the lock screen is missing the camera and phone symbol. Before the update, bottom left showed a phone symbol and bottom right showed a camera symbol. With the camera symbol, I could easily open the camera from lock screen without unlocking the device.

Same...55" TCL Samsung 55S405 which is less than 2 years old and black screen. Nothing has worked so buying a Samsung. Right now using my 32" 12 year old Samsung and it is a better picture and sound..

I have a 65 inch TCL roku TV! I am having the black screen issue! I have had this TV almost 2 years! Absolutely ridiculous! I have a Vizio that I have had for 6 years! Never any issues! Now I am reading all these posts from people with the same issues! SMH! Someone should be held responsible!

gotta second you on this, my 65inch just died yesterday, its like 28 months old (a little under 2.5 years) seems to be the backlight (flashlight check shows it fully functional with sound). I started to take it apart but there are 20 led strips in this bad boy. I'm at the point of either spending 100 dollars on new LEDs and taking it apart hoping I done mess up the massive screen and filters, or paying someone 200-300 bucks to do it :/ Sucks to add this cost to a $1100 investment >_>

There is this really weird fix for black screen I saw on a youtube video. It fixes problem for many, but not for me. It did make "Roku TV" flash very quickly. Does this mean LEDs not out? Fix consists of the following: Press the following sequence on the remote: Home button - 5 times; Up once; Rewind twice; Fast Forward twice. After you do this wait a minute or two. TV turns itself off, then on, the flashes like it is cycling through a test or something. Then it is supposed to turn itself off and on again. Mine did not turn off the second time, but it worked for many other commenters. video was on WorldOfTech channel, or something like that.

I managed to fix my black screen. I bought another 55" TCL 4K Android TV, TV from Facebook marketplace for $50 because it had a cracked screen. I thought it was the same model but it turned out to be different. I took a chance and replaced my power board with the one from the other TV and even though it was half the size, the part numbers were very similar and the ribbon cable connections were the same. I'm very happy to say that it worked and my TV is working fine again. I did have to cut out the power plug hole a little, for the new board thought.

Awesome. It's the backlight in my case as everything else is fine... It is powering up and I can see faint images from the menu when I shine a flashlight at the screen.. remote is registering, all that.

I have a weird problem with this TV backlights went out about a year ago. I replaced them and it worked great. But 6 months later it went out again. This time replacing the backlights didnt give me a full screen. All the lights worked on the right side of the screen but the left side remained black. Tested the lights and they are all good. Tested the ones I took out and they all tested good also. Any idea what i can do now? 17dc91bb1f
