What is Scratchware?

Scratchware (formerly Scratchware Limited) is an independent software and video game development endeavor that was launched with the idea of making random (though often useful) tools and games. Created in 2016 by an individual under the alias of "qbert66" (now Fletchable), Scratchware started off as just being a small group of friends who designed Scratch games on a Windows computer at their school (hence the brand's name).

Today, maintained and led exclusively by Fletchable, Scratchware focuses on many different types of software and games on many different platforms to suit a variety of genres. From word processors to simple utilities to now its own cross-platform programming language, Scratchware designs freeware that is meant to be enjoyed by people of all ages and interests.

In July 2022, Scratchware's game production venture was given its own moniker in order to properly distinguish it from other software created by the brand, and so Scratchware Studios was formed.
