Are We the Plague?
By Oliver Callahan

I hear the preach of personal freedom
Of individual rights and peace,
But then I hear your hateful words
For Eradication of “The Beast”.
You claim corruption, violence, loss
As though we were the ones,
Who hate, and hurt, and kill, and fight,
Detest, abhor, and shun.
But “Oh the children”, Yes the children
Those you simply must protect,
By banning care, and meds, and help
And claiming God objects.
Yet we’re the ones who overstep
By asking to be heard
Last time I checked I’m not the one who prays that you’ll be cured
You claim to want to do what's right
By taking mine away
Do I come into your private life and tell you what’s okay?
But we’re the ones to be removed
With Laws and bills left vague
Your words and hate kill thousands
So tell me, who’s the plague?
