Canyon Adventures

Walking onto the helicopter pad lined with yellow stripes. Climbing into the bright orange helicopter. Awaiting the liftoff eager to see the canyon from a different view. No matter how many miles I hiked on the ground, I could never see the whole thing. Lifting off the ground watching it fade away. Speeding through the sky above the tall green trees. Finally, like a bird peeking over the edge, I look down at the Grand Canyon with deep jagged edges, a vigorous river flowing through the valleys. At peace watching the canyon turn to a dot as we fly away.
