The work-based learning (WBL) program gives students the unique opportunity to jump into the ‘world of work’ with companies and organizations within the community. Scranton Public School students involved in the work-based learning program will have the opportunity to gain real world job experience while earning school credit.
Work-based learning experiences provide students a space to explore careers they are interested in, build workplace skills, gain hands-on experience in a professional setting, and prepare for life after high school.
Logistical information:
Students must apply to be admitted into the program
Placement must be during the 1:25- 3:15 pm school hours (7th and 8th hour)
Students will be enrolled in the ‘work-based learning’ class at school but will attend their placement during that period
Depending on the student's work schedule, they can earn up to 1 credit
