Challenge: "The Growth Journal"
Create a journal or scrapbook where each week you add a page:
page 1 – Draw and write about a time you learned something new.
page 2 – Write/draw a mistake you made and what it taught you.
page 3 – Design a “Classroom Community Superhero” who makes friends and helps others.
page 4 – Write/draw a goal ladder for something you want to get better at
Challenge: “The Feelings Zoo”
Make your own zoo where each animal shows a different feeling. Add a new animal each time you visit this challenge.
Page 1 – Draw a lion 🦁 showing bravery.
Page 2 – Add a turtle 🐢 showing shyness or nervousness.
Page 3 – Add a monkey 🐒 showing happiness.
Page 4 – Add an elephant 🐘 showing sadness.
Page 5 – Add an owl 🦉 showing calmness.
Page 6 – Invent your own animal and explain what feeling it shows
Challenge: “The Emotion Adventure Map”
Stop 1 – Draw “Feelings Island.” Label 3–5 emotions you’ve felt lately.
Stop 2 – Add “Body Signals Mountain.” Show how your body feels when emotions get big (heart racing, butterflies, smiling).
Stop 3 – Create “Calm-Down River.” Draw or write 3 strategies that help you cool down.
Stop 4 – Add “Friendship Bridge.” Write/draw how you can share feelings with others in a healthy way.
Stop 5 – Build “Courage Castle.” Show how you can be brave and face a tough feeling.
Stop 6 – Finish with “Balance Bay.” Draw/write about a time you stayed calm when things were hard.
Outcome: Over several weeks, you've created a colorful map that tells their personal story of handling emotions
Give finished project to Mrs. Doerr for a reward!
