I made an unofficial proposal for changing the rules for competitive plays (especially in tournament plays) to make things interesting.
First of all, we change the rules on tile tracking at the endgame. You can now view your opponent's rack directly by flipping your opponent's rack to determine the mismatch with the tile tracking during the endgame with empty bag, especially under the time pressure, allowing you to retrack the tiles to correct the mistake.
Secondly, there is a big change on the passing rule in the endgame and the pre-endgame. During the pre-endgame with one to six tiles remaining in the bag, unless both players have no legal moves available, the game can no longer end on the spot after six consecutive passes. After your passing, your opponent can still pass back, but if your opponent has just passed back, Instead, you are using the perfect information on your opponent's rack and the remaining tiles in the bag. If you passed again as the third pass, then your opponent will also use the perfect information again as in the previous pass. However, both players cannot pass further after four consecutive passes, making playing an invalid word (phony) and challenging it off being the only way to end the game on the spot before emptying the bag. This change is very helpful to prevent exploitation in some overly complicated pre-endgames.
And finally, in the endgame where the bag is emptied, after you have just passed, then your opponent can no longer pass back if your opponent is stuck with at least one tile at the endgame, unless both players have no more legal moves available.
