Teachers in 1st to 6th Class are using Google Classroom to set work and communicate with the children in their classes. Learning Support teachers will also be using Google Classroom to set work for their pupils and give them help and guidance.
A Google Classroom is not a replacement for a real classroom and does not look like one! There are no 'live' lessons but teachers can put up assignments, videos etc and can respond to any questions the children have about their work. Children can submit their work, discuss it, have it corrected and returned by their teacher. It means we don't have to send lots of emails to parents; all of the work is available on Google Classroom so the children can use it at anytime.
All pupils in 1st to 6th Class need to log into their school email address, and then join their teacher's Google Classroom using the code sent to you.
Each teacher has a different Google Classroom and a code to go with it.
Please email us if you have any difficulty (but read the teacher's email firstly and check that you have the correct code for each child in your family).
We are happy to help with any problems you have getting set up with Google Classroom so please get in touch if you're stuck.
Remember you can't sign into Google Classroom with your own account or any other gmail account; you need to sign into your child's school email account.
Try these steps:
1. Use Google Chrome as your browser
2. Go to add account (you need to sign out of any other accounts you have on at the moment)
3. Insert: firstinitallastname.student@scps.ie as the new email address (This is your child's school email address)
4. Use changeme as the password
5. Accept
6. Change the password
7. Using the nine dots in the top right corner (looks like a waffle) choose Google Classroom
