SCP-LC-120
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-LC-120 is located in a forested area of the Tatra Mountains and is contained within a restricted exclusion zone with a radius of 300 meters. The surrounding area is disguised as a landslide-prone region and is monitored by Foundation security personnel.
The entrance to SCP-LC-120 has been sealed with a reinforced steel door equipped with a remote-controlled locking mechanism. Access to the interior is strictly prohibited without authorization from the Site Director. Any exploration of SCP-LC-120 must be conducted using recording equipment, biometric monitoring, and psychological oversight.
Personnel assigned to SCP-LC-120 are required to undergo thorough psychological evaluation prior to deployment, with particular emphasis on resistance to claustrophobia and anxiety-related disorders.
Description:
SCP-LC-120 is an anomalous spatial structure manifesting as a narrow, unlit stairwell located in a dense forest within the Tatra Mountains. The entrance consists of a single door approximately 200 cm in height and 70 cm in width. Upon opening the door, a staircase ascending upward is visible.
After the first few steps, natural and artificial light rapidly diminishes, giving way to near-total darkness. A faint, undefined source of illumination is barely perceptible near the entrance, but does not extend deeper into the structure. The stairwell appears to continue beyond its observable length, with no visible walls or ceiling once deeper darkness is reached.
Despite its confined appearance, SCP-LC-120 exhibits non-Euclidean spatial properties. Audio, video, and sensory recordings taken within the structure consistently fail to capture any anomalous entities or events. However, personnel report increasing psychological distress proportional to time spent inside the stairwell.
Test Log LC-120-1:
Subject: Class-K Personnel K-261
Equipment: Handheld flashlight, head-mounted GoPro camera, standard-issue taser
Procedure:
K-261 was instructed to enter SCP-LC-120 and ascend four levels of the stairwell. Continuous video and audio feed were monitored externally.
Results:
After approximately ten minutes, K-261 exited SCP-LC-120 with no visible physical injuries. Review of the recorded footage revealed no anomalies, movement, or environmental changes within the structure.
Post-exposure psychological evaluation indicated that K-261 had developed symptoms of claustrophobia. Notably, the subject had no prior history of claustrophobic responses or related anxiety disorders.
Conclusion:
K-261 was returned to containment with minor psychological alterations noted. Further testing is pending approval.
No photos were taken yet as they are disclosed under 3 level clearance.
