It has been a long time since the SCPD had cadets so we are really excited to welcome Dylan Moses and Carter Schulte to the team! Cadet Moses is a Marysville High School graduate and Cadet Schulte is a Marine City High School graduate. Both are attending St. Clair County Community College and pursuing their education in Business and Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice. Their primary goals during their tenure with the SCPD is to build relationships with the community, help out with our waterfront and plaza events and gain valuable, hands on experience with our talented officers. Our goal is for them to eventually join us back as police officers! If you see these two gentlemen out and about, be sure to give them a smile and a wave...they have already been hard at work, helping to keep our community safe!
Are you interested in hosting a tent, table or vehicle at our Safety Town Community Block Party this year? If so, please get in touch with one of the Directors!
04/20/26 - We are happy to welcome Ofc. Maxwell McCrory to the SCPD! Ofc. McCrory graduated from Livonia Franklin High School and then trained in Lansing, MI. He has worked with the Lansing Police Department, Portland Police Department, Yale Police Department and is now here with us in St. Clair. Ofc. McCrory is looking forward to getting to know our local business owners, neighbors and mentoring the youth in our community. Be sure to give him a wave and a smile if you see him around town!

02/09/26 - Have you seen folks around town wearing red glasses? Students at the St. Clair 6-12 campus have joined the movement and the St. Clair Police Department are proud to be a part of it too! Inspired by a very special young lady who lived boldly and loved big, the red glasses represent kindness, understanding and compassion. To learn more about this incredible movement, scroll down!
01/05/26 - Sgt. Jared McClure has a great full-circle story with the SCPD! Back in 2004, he was a participant of the Student Police Academy. In 2008, he joined the department as a cadet and eventually as an officer. Sgt. McClure was also a firefighter and a MSP Trooper.
Since his time with the SCPD, he has helped to provide education to the participants of the Citizen Police Academy about laws of the road, procedures for citations (including field sobriety test simulations) and crash site investigations. In his new role, Sgt. McClure wants to be a steady presence in our local schools and a mentor to the youngsters of our town. It's a true give-back!
We are so happy that Sgt. McClure is with us and wish him a continued safe and successful career!
02/10/26 - Our next season of the SCPD Citizen Police Academy is starting in February of 2026. If you are interested in participating, you can stop by the PD window at City Hall to get an application. If you have any questions, call 810-329-5710.
12/19/25 - Today, we bid farewell to Chief Tim Raker who selflessly served the City of St. Clair for over eight years. We would like to thank him for his support of the SCPF Youth Programs. Because of his encouragement, Youth Programs received a grant on 12/01/25 to help fund an Elementary Police Academy, Poster Contest, Safety drop-in sessions, the Safety Town Community Block Party and more. We promise to honor the groundwork you laid by continuing law enforcement and safety education to the youth of our town. Enjoy your well deserved retirement!
12/15/25 - We congratulate Sgt. Ennis on his promotion to Chief of Police. He has been with the SCPD for over 17 years and is committed to continuing the legacy of our outgoing leader, Chief Tim Raker. Chief Raker put much effort into ensuring more police visibility in the community and strived to cultivate and maintain citizen-police relationships. Chief Ennis will continue to carry out and expand the Citizen Police Academy, Public Safety Volunteer Program and SCPF Youth Programs.
12/01/25 - The Community Foundation of St. Clair County awarded Youth Programs a grant in the amount of $3,710.50 to support the implementation of the Elementary Police Academy in July, 2026 and a series of drop-in educational sessions featuring members of public safety agencies through St. Clair Parks and Recreation. On behalf of the St. Clair Police Foundation, we would like to extend our immense gratitude for the approval of our grant application. Our hopes for teaching and inspiring the youth in our community can now become a reality with this generous grant. We are also glad that the Community Foundation recognizes the positive and important impact that safety and law enforcement education makes on our community.
11/21/25 - Jolly 'ol St. Nick made his debut to our town at the Lighted Santa Parade! Our Public Safety Volunteers directed traffic and helped to keep the participants and spectators safe. Our PSV program members (comprised of 23 volunteers who reside in and around St. Clair) put in close to 500 hours this season. We are SO grateful for their service to our community!
07/07/25 - At the City Council meeting, Chief Raker introduced two new members of our force: Ofc. Spencer Witrens (left) and Ofc. Andew Fouchey (right). Don't let their rookie status fool you - both of these gentlemen are skilled and have no problem getting their feet wet...especially Ofc. Witrens! On his first day off of his probationary status, he successfully carried out a rescue in the River! Please join us in welcoming these two fellows and be sure to give them a smile and a wave when you see them!
07/07/25 - Chief Raker announced the promotion of Ofc. Ashlee Clees to the rank of Corporal at the City Council meeting. Cpl. Clees demonstrates outstanding leadership and steady skill. Most notably, Cpl. Clees teaches subject control and self defense tactics at the Citizen Police Academy. We wish you continued safety and success in your new role!

Belgian Malinois -- June 23, 2011 -- 25 inches -- 70 pounds
Gabby was neglected and abandoned by her previous owner and left to fend for herself for four months in the woods of Maryland before being found. She was turned over to the American Belgian Malinois Rescue and brought to a foster home - a police family in Ohio.
On February 23, 2019, Gabby arrived to her furever home in St. Clair. Since then, she has learned the comfort of memory foam beds, the coziness of blankets and pillows and the consistency of meals, treats, toys, activities and above all, LOVE!
She is a highly intelligent dog who is serious and frequently in “work” mode but does have a silly and playful side. Most of all, she is calm, sweet and can’t get enough pets and rubs! She has a keen sense of others’ feelings and can predict a storm sometimes faster than the National Weather Service!
Gabby became the mascot for the St. Clair Police Foundation’s Youth Programs as the Safety Shepherd. Together, Gabby and her mumma Michelle share tips and provide education to the community related to police work and all facets of safety.
