If you want a reliable replacement cable for older JBL speakers and need a flat, tangle-free design for quick charging, choose SCOVEE Charger Cord; if you need a longer, high-current Type-C cable specifically engineered for modern gaming headsets from brands like BERIBES or NUBWO, choose boda USB Charger Charging.
• SCOVEE Charger Cord: Its biggest strength is the specialized flat design that prevents tangling and the 2.4A fast-charging capability for legacy JBL devices; however, it is strictly limited to Micro USB ports and excludes all newer Type-C models. This pick is for owners of older portable speakers who need a durable, specific replacement.
• boda USB Charger Charging: Its standout feature is the robust 3A current support and extra-long 5-foot length, making it ideal for reaching power sources while gaming; the trade-off is its exclusive compatibility with specific gaming headset brands rather than universal speaker use. This pick is for gamers using BERIBES, NUBWO, or Binnune headsets who prioritize speed and reach.
The SCOVEE Charger Cord is built with a very specific mission in mind: keeping older JBL audio gear alive without the frustration of tangled messes. The design features a flat profile that runs about 3.3 feet long, which immediately solves the common problem of cords twisting into knots inside a backpack or under a couch cushion. Unlike round cables that coil up on themselves, this flat construction stays relatively straight, making it much easier to pack for travel or store in a drawer. The bright red color also adds a touch of style, but more importantly, the engineering focuses on durability and consistent performance for devices that have been around for several years.
When looking at the technical capabilities, this cable supports a maximum amperage of 2.4 amps. This is a solid charge rate for portable Bluetooth speakers that were designed before the industry standardized on higher wattage USB-C power delivery. It ensures your device syncs and charges simultaneously with transfer speeds up to 480Mb/s. However, the most critical factor here is the connector type. This is a Micro USB cable, not a Type-C. If you own a newer speaker, this won't fit, no matter how hard you try. It is explicitly incompatible with the Charge 4, Flip 5, Go 3, and other models that have moved to the newer, reversible port standard.

This product is perfect for parents who bought their kids a JBL Clip, Flip, or Pulse model several years ago and need a replacement when the original cord gets lost or frayed. It is also an excellent backup for Logitech UE Boom users who find their original cables difficult to manage. If you have a collection of older "legacy" speakers gathering dust because the charging wire broke, this is the solution. You should skip this product entirely if you are shopping for a new, modern speaker or if you need a cable that works with phones, tablets, or headphones that use the smaller, oval-shaped USB-C ports.
The boda USB Charger Charging Cable takes a different approach by focusing on the needs of serious gamers and users of specific modern audio equipment. The primary advantage here is the length. At 5 feet, this cable offers significantly more reach than the SCOVEE option, allowing you to sit comfortably on a couch or bed while plugged into a wall outlet across the room. This is a practical necessity for anyone wearing a gaming headset who doesn't want to be tethered tightly to the computer tower or a nearby power strip. The flexibility of this extra length makes it far superior for dynamic gaming sessions where movement is part of the experience.
Under the hood, this cable is built for speed. It supports a maximum current of 3 amps, which is higher than the 2.4 amps offered by the SCOVEE cord. This is achieved through high-gauge low impedance wires designed to reduce resistance and heat during charging. For gaming headsets that often have larger batteries or require rapid power replenishment between long matches, this extra amperage can make a noticeable difference in how quickly you get back to playing. The connector is a standard USB Type-C, which is the modern standard for almost all new audio gear, ensuring forward compatibility with future devices.
However, the scope of this product is narrower regarding brand compatibility. It is tailored specifically for BERIBES (6EQ Modes WH202A, WH305B), NUBWO (G06), and Binnune (BW01) headphones. If you do not own one of these specific gaming headsets, this cable likely has no utility for you. It is not a universal speaker charger. This makes it an essential accessory for fans of these specific brands who want a premium, long-lasting charging solution. Parents looking for the best ANC headset for children who play games might find this useful if the child owns one of these compatible models, as the long cord allows them to charge while playing safely away from the desk.
• Best for battery life maintenance → SCOVEE Charger Cord: The 2.4A output is optimized for the specific battery chemistry of older JBL speakers, ensuring they charge efficiently without overheating.
• Best value for reach → boda USB Charger Charging: The 5-foot length provides double the mobility compared to the 3.3-foot SCOVEE cable, reducing cable strain and improving comfort.
• Best for speed → boda USB Charger Charging: With 3A max current, it delivers power faster than the SCOVEE option, ideal for larger gaming headset batteries.
• Best for legacy hardware → SCOVEE Charger Cord: It is the only choice for JBL models like the Flip 4, Charge 3, and Clip 2 that still rely on Micro USB.
• Best for modern gaming setups → boda USB Charger Charging: Designed specifically for Type-C gaming headsets, offering better compatibility with current gaming ecosystems.
• Best for organization → SCOVEE Charger Cord: The flat design naturally resists tangling, whereas round cables like the boda tend to knot easily.
• Best for families with multiple kids → boda USB Charger Charging: If the household uses compatible gaming headsets, the longer cord allows multiple kids to charge simultaneously without fighting over space.
• Best for portability → SCOVEE Charger Cord: The shorter, flatter profile makes it slightly easier to slip into a small pocket or side compartment of a bag.
In my opinion, the right choice depends entirely on what device you are trying to power, but for a family setting, I would lean toward the boda USB Charger Charging if the goal is supporting modern gaming activities. The extra length and higher amperage make it a more versatile tool for active users, especially when considering that many children today use gaming headsets that benefit from the 5-foot reach. However, if you are simply trying to revive an old JBL speaker that has been sitting unused, the SCOVEE Charger Cord is the only logical path since the boda cable simply will not fit. Ultimately, for children who are transitioning into more immersive gaming experiences, the boda option provides the freedom and speed they need to stay connected without constant interruptions.
It is strictly for older Micro USB models.
While the connector is USB Type-C, the product is marketed specifically for BERIBES, NUBWO, and Binnune gaming headsets. Using it for a phone may work if the phone uses Type-C, but it is not guaranteed to be optimized for phone charging protocols.
The boda USB Charger Charging cable is 5 feet long, providing significantly more reach than the SCOVEE Charger Cord, which measures 3.3 feet.
No, both cables are plug-and-play. The SCOVEE uses a standard Micro USB connector, and the boda uses a standard USB Type-C connector, so they plug directly into their respective devices and a standard USB power source.
