The purpose of the SCOV Garden Club is to promote the benefits of gardening and enjoy the camaraderie of other gardeners. Guest speakers and field trips help members learn successful gardening techniques unique to our desert environment. For example, we explore indigenous plants and water-wise gardening. The club serves our SCOV community through educational outreach and beautification projects within our common grounds.
We're an active group passionate about gardening—welcome! If you’re new to SCOV, here are some quick tips:
Club dues support speakers, beautification projects, Garden Walks, office supplies, and annual donations.
Sun City sets planting rules; find approved trees at scov.com under Governing Documents > Overarching > Development Standards.
Desert gardening offers color and variety. Visit Tohono Chul Botanical Gardens and check our website for local resources.
Be cautious buying from big box stores; many plants aren’t suited to our climate. Buy local and read labels.
