About
The Scout has many roles and duties, all of which are focused on protecting the tribe. This class is a deep dive into the life-saving skills of protection including awareness, movement, martial arts, tactics, philosophy, and more, all from the perspective of the Scout. With an emphasis on developing various skills that can be applied to any situation, regardless of the environment, this course includes a blend of lecture/discussion and hands-on physical training. In a safe and non-intimidating environment, you will learn and develop the prowess of a scout protector.
The way of the Scout was that of a peacemaker, always the last one to pick up a lance. Grandfather taught Tom and Rick "wolverine" fighting techniques of the Scouts. This combined the use of various weapons, empty hand, and spiritual skill development. To quote Tom, "The martial and demanding physical fitness routines were not so much for war or fighting application, but it was a comfort to know that the ability was there if the need ever arose."
The scouts were the eyes, ears, and protectors of the tribe, and although they were the last to pick up the lance, when they did they became wild animals. During this training, we connect with the animal within, and it is by becoming familiar with that animal that we cultivate the prowess that allows us to become more peaceful, and make everyone a little bit safer wherever we go.
This course is packed with a lifetime of usable information. In this class, you will be exposed to a principle-based training methodology that will provide a framework for ongoing self-development. You do not need prior martial art training or be exceptionally fit to benefit from this course, and all skill levels are welcome.
"Apache Scouts were the best survivalists and trackers. They were masters of escape and evasion, stalking and countless other skills. These "other skills" included developing warrior and protector skills."
