Originally from Dallas, TX, I moved to St. George, UT in March 2026. I've been fascinated by aviation since I was a little kid, and now I'm living my dream of being a professional pilot!
For almost 2 decades, I built a successful real estate brokerage in the Dallas, TX suburbs. During those years I learned many of the skills necessary to being a great professional pilot: communication, customer service, negotiation & persuasion, problem-solving under pressure, decision-making, time management & scheduling, attention to detail, adaptability & flexibility, emotional intelligence & calm demeanor, networking & relationship building, resilience & handling rejection, sales & self-promotion, risk assessment & mitigation, financial & business acumen, multitasking, professionalism & presentation, documentation & regulatory compliance, in addition to managerial skills with leading a team of other real estate sales agents.
Now that I'm mid-life and have moved on from real estate, I'm putting my years of experience to use as a professional pilot.
My wife, Britney, and I travel cross-country in our 1968 Piper Cherokee 180 from North Texas to Southern Utah for Thanksgiving! We've already decided we're moving in the Spring of 2026, and now we're heading out West to visit family, shop for a place to live, and do the boring things to make sure we like it. Oh yeah, and we get to see some very cool places along the way from 10,000 ft!
For the last 20 years, I've sold about 500 homes in the DFW area as a real estate broker. I don't love it anymore, and now I want to pursue the TRUE career I've always dreamed of: becoming a professional pilot! Am I just having a midlife crisis? I don't think so!
