Logistics

Participants must arrange their own travel to Edinburgh. We have arranged a coach to the venue, Dryburgh Abbey Country House Hotel, leaving central Edinburgh on Sunday 13th December at 6:10pm from outside Edinburgh Waverley Station (pickup point: East Market St directly under North Bridge). A coach back to Edinburgh will leave on Friday 18th December at 12:30pm. Alternatively, you may take a train to Tweedbank (tickets can be purchased from ScotRail) where you will need to take a short approximately 20 minute taxi ride to the venue. Complimentary car parking is also available but please let the venue know in advance.
If you are planning to pass a day in Edinburgh, for example to visit the Christmas Markets, the Premier Inn on East Market St offers luggage storage (which has to be booked online via Stasher). Edinburgh Waverley station also has two left luggage facilities, near platform 2 and upstairs inside Waverley Market.

Single accommodation from Sunday to Friday will be covered by the organisers. This includes three meals a day.
If you are considering to extend your stay at Dryburgh Abbey or include an accompanying person, please contact the organisers.

There are multiple walking routes available. The venue faces the ruins of the abbey (burial place of Sir Walter Scott), which can easily be visited during breaks. More information is available on the venue website.
