InQuest is SCOSH's attempt at popularizing research problems among undergraduate students. The participating teams work in a "researchathon" to study a research paper of their choice and then express their best understanding of it through a presentation. The team which is able to cover the paper in its entire depth is judged to be the winner by the faculty. The main aim of the event is to give the freshmen an opportunity to have a tete-a-tete with a current research problem, so that it drives out the fear and doubt that comes to everyone when they first dive into the world of scientific literature.
* The participants need to register in teams of maximum 3 individuals. They can also participate (register) as individual or in a team of 2.
* More preference (for selection) will be given to teams of 3, followed by 2 and then individual participation.
* Participants will be given a pool of research papers, out of which they’ll have to select three preferences for the event.
* There are some research papers in each pool reserved exclusively for teams with all participants from 1st and 2nd year participants.
* The participants will be asked a few questions before finishing the form. They will be ranked on the basis of their answers to the given questions.
* Based on the rank, the teams will be allotted the papers according to the preferences. In case of dispute of preferences, the team with higher rank will be given their first preference.
* In case of team ranking, decision of the committee stands final. No complaints will be entertained in this matter.
