Drones have been applied in many areas such as environment inspection, disaster surveillance, agriculture, and construction. Thanks to its compact size, flexible movement with high autonomy, drones are expected to open up other frontier. Nonetheless, drones have high risk of harming objects that work near by them, most due to collision with rigid rotating propeller. Such collisions also break drone's propeller resulting in falling and broken of drone. To avoid such risks for drone, a novel deformable propeller which was constructed by hybrid material including rigid plastic and soft silicone rubber. Inspired by dragonfly's wing nodus providing both structure reinforcement and shock absorbtion, the novel deformable propeller are able to deform upon collision to mitigate damage of the drone and also avoid the risk of broken propellers.
