03/24/2026: Our paper "CFD–DEM Analysis of Internal Soil Erosion Induced by Infiltration into Defective Buried Pipes" published in Geoscience was selected as Editor's Choice.

03/13/2026: The SCI lab received a grant from EPA titled "Turning Sargassum Waste into Resources: Engineered Biochar for Strengthening Living Shorelines" with a total budget of $800k. The co-PIs are Dr. Eric Sparks (MSU) and Dr. Eunsung Kan (TAMU).

03/13/2026: Dr. Fei Wang attended the GeoCongress 2026 in Salt Lake City from Mar. 9-12th. He made a poster presentation with a title of "Modifying Soil Plasticity using Biochar to Prevent Soil Erosion".

03/12/2026: Ph.D. student Coleman Vaugh attended the ASEE-SE 2026 Conference in Memphis, TN early this week.  It is Coleman's first conference and he made an oral presentation with a title of " Developing Buried Structures Competition for ASCE Student Symposiums or Similar Events".  Congratulations! 👍
