The SCISD TIA Plan calls for using these tools to determine Student Growth in their respective eligible categories. Student Growth makes up 50% of the TIA scoring . T-TESS makes up the other 50%.
Grades K-4, Reading and Math, use IStation as one of their Student Growth Measure tools for TIA. This is done using vendor created growth targets.
Pre-Kindergarten Reading and Math
Kindergarten Reading and Math
1st and 2nd Grade Reading
Grades 5-8 Reading and Math, use iReady as one of their Student Growth Measure tools for TIA. This is done using vendor created growth targets.
Grades 4-8 Reading and Math along with English I, II, and Algebra I use the previous year's STAAR Test results as compared to the current end-of-year STAAR Test results to determine student growth. This is done using the STAAR Transition Tables.
For 3rd Grade Reading and Math, 5th Grade Science, 8th Grade Science and Social Studies, Biology, and US History, there was not previous year's STAAR Test to use as a beginning growth point. In these eligible categories, BOY STAAR Released Tests (previous year) will be used as a pre-test and the EOY STAAR Test will be used as the post-test. Student Growth will be determined using the Graduated Percent Model.
This spreadsheet is used to determine the Graduated Percent Growth for students in 3rd Grade Reading and Math, 5th Grade Science, 8th Grade Science and Social Studies, Biology, and US History. This is based on identifying the BOY quintile and determining student targeted growth based on growth relative to their BOY quintile.
When there are multiple Student Growth Measures combined to determine TIA SGM Score, combine all students testing and all students who met growth. Details shown here.
When administering assessments associated with TIA, teachers and students will adhere to test security protocols, similar to that of STAAR, to ensure consistent results, secured tests, and a fair process for all involved. Expectations are outlined here.
