Banned Books Week, taking place this year from September 22-28th, is an annual event that celebrates the freedom to read and highlights the importance of access to diverse and challenging literature. It's an opportunity to engage students in discussions about intellectual freedom, censorship, and the value of diverse perspectives in our society. In support of Banned Books Week, I have compiled a selection of resources for you to use in your classrooms. These resources are designed to not only spark meaningful conversations but also align with the New Jersey state standards, helping students develop critical thinking, media literacy, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
