Scio Village Condominiums is a dog friendly community. However, residents who walk pets are responsible for immediately cleaning up after them and appropriately discarding of the waste. While we don’t have any designated ‘pet only’ locations for walking or elimination, pet owners are encouraged to take their pets to the perimeter of the property, whenever possible. This includes the back berm, located along the East side of the property, behind the row of garages and mailboxes off Scio Village Court. This ties in on the South side of the property with a sidewalk located behind row of garages along Park St and continues on past the Old National Bank bldg and Mancino’s up to Zeeb Road. Please take care to limit your pet’s activity to these locations, whenever possible, in order to help reduce damage to our more carefully groomed common areas and prevent additional maintenance expenes.
For more information about our community's pet restrictions, please see Article VI, Section 5, located on pg 25 of the Bylaws.
Warming stairwells will help alleviate potential frozen pipe risks. If your unit has one, please ensure that your entry-way wall mounted heater is on and set at the highest level.
As many basement stairwells run directly under second floor condo stairwells, lower unit residents can help their upstairs neighbors by:
Leaving the door that leads to your basement open, encouraging warmer air to rise and
if applicable, by also leaving the closet located off of some first floor laundry rooms open, as warming this closet space, can likewise help since it's also located directly beneath upper stairwells.
In order to help ensure the safety of our residents and visitors in our community, following a large snow fall where 4” or more is expected, the Winter Storm Warning Plan requires residents and visitors to relocate their vehicles to garages and/or to peripheral parking spaces located outside of our immediate community so that Adam and his team can get in for a thorough clean-up of the property. Additional information and guidance is found HERE.
Containers of salt have been deposited on front porches for residents to supplement our ground crew’s efforts to keep our front steps and walks safe between visits. Please be mindful that North facing areas may be especially vulnerable to slippery conditions this time of year.
Located under the Gazebo on the Center Boulevard, the Little Free Library was made possible, in large part, by Scio Village residents Rebecca Aikman who conceptualized and spearheaded the project and Marcus Johnson who assisted with the construction and craftsmanship; as well as many other community members responsible for donating books to stock the shelves. For information about how to participate, please click HERE.
Please continue to help keep our community streets, drives, walks and lawns safe and accessible, free of obstructions and debris. Parking in unmarked areas and along vacant curbs is prohibited. if you are a pet owner, please continue to be courteous and clean up after your pet. Pet waste is unsightly and unsanitary. If your dog poops, please scoop.
