Q: What format will the program be teaching in?
A: During lessons, teachers will give talks and students will occasionally have worksheets to help them follow along.
Q: Is attending each of the classes mandatory?
A: The contents taught in each class are independent of each other and each class covers a different topic, however it is encouraged to attend every class and the final day will review content taught in all of the class.
Q: Can I still join if I don't have experience in science?
A: Of course! Each lesson is taught so that even those without experience can understand, and the whole purpose of the lessons is to encourage students to discover passions within science!
Q: Will everyone who registers be automatically accepted into the program?
A: No, we want to make sure that every student is able to get adequate attention, so we have limited spots available. We will review the registrations and choose around 10 of the students, out of around 70 students.
Q: What if I don't get accepted this year/What if I don't live near Lexington?
A: No worries! If you're still within the age range, you can register again next year, and if not, you can apply as a TA. Additionally, we're starting an online series for students who weren't able to attend the in-person meetings, so stay tuned!
