This is a collection of papers, reports and articles related to cycling. They are grouped in sections which include cyclist/driver behaviour, cyclist safety, economic benefits, environmental impact, equity and human rights, government and NGO reports, and health benefits. Many of the papers touch on more than one of these topics, but are only located in one section. I have also included a "miscellaneous" section of papers that are interesting, but only tangentially related to cycling. Where possible I have included a link to the full paper.
I hope this collection is useful to anyone interested in evidence-based decision making about cycling.
My name is David Isaac. I am an avid cyclist and lawyer at Lerners LLP in London, Ontario and I teach a course called "The Law of Urbanism" at Western University. While I have a general personal injury practice, I focus on helping cyclists and pedestrians who have been injured. As a passionate advocate for evidence-based urban planning, I firmly believe that making cycling safer will help get more people of all ages and abilities on their bikes.
