During our time preparing for science circus we also like to go out into the community and do science demos for the elementary students in the Helena Area Elementary Schools to show some awesome science that's not included in our kits.
Did your student come home talking about a cool science demo? Let us explain the science to you!
Also please don't repeat these experiments at home without proper understanding and guidance. The students performing these experiments for your children have learned to do the experiments safely and properly to make sure everything goes correctly and understand the science that makes them work.

We dip a dollar bill into a solution of water, alcohol and table salt.

When the bill is soaked into the solution, the water molecules soak into the bill while the alcohol remains on the surface. When the match is put to the bill, the alcohol is what actually burns. The temperature at which the alcohol burns is not high enough to evaporate the water and burn the bill.

The salt is added to make the flame stand out more, when salt is heated it created light photons.

Dry Ice Bubbles
Dry Ice Bubbles
In this dry ice experiment, the ice is dropped into soapy water. When the dry ice sublimates, the carbon dioxide and water become trapped inside the soap film bubbles which looks like fog. When you pop the bubbles, you release the “fog”.
