A Symposium focused on Fostering
Trust in Research
The University System of Maryland and the University of Maryland, Baltimore are pleased to co-host a sysmposium entitled: Science at the Crossroads: Fostering Trust in Research, organized by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development. The symposium will be held on March 27, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Maryland Baltimore’s 4MLK building. This day-long event is open to to the USM community and the public. It will feature a presentation on the latest data from the Pew Foundation from their series entitled Trust in Science, followed by three panel discussions examining the themes of communicating science with public audiences, responsible authorship and ethical issues associated with emerging research technologies.
