The Scientific Department is the research arm of the Foundation, dedicated to investigating and documenting the properties of anomalous entities within the Foundation's facilities. Our team of researchers conducts ethical and responsible experiments to advance the Foundation's knowledge and understanding of these entities.. We utilize cutting-edge technology and methods to gather and analyze data, and shared with other departments and external partners to drive the SCP Foundation towards a brighter goal for containment. The Department is committed to gather the brightest of intelligence from the SCP Foundation to achieve our research.
All research is reviewed, graded, and reported to the Scientific Department and logged on the Scientific Department's Anomaly Discovery page. We take pride in our contributions to the Foundation's mission of research and understanding the contained anomalies the Foundation holds.
!WARNING! - This page is for the eyes of the Scientific Department ONLY! Unauthorized access from Research Deputy Director or above will not be tolerated.
Hello, first and foremost we would like to welcome you into the department. We hope you enjoy your time here! You are able to go on site and team freely as of now, however, you are not to conduct any tests. Your primary focus should be spectating tests, checking out Safe Containment and getting to know the ropes of the department.
If you have any questions, do not fret to ask a subordinate or your superiors!
The Scientific Department's research efforts are rewarded SP (Scientific Points), a system that recognizes the value and impact of individual researchers' contributions. By publishing documents, presenting findings, and discovering new insights about anomalies, researchers can earn SP and progress through the Department's ranks. The system incentivizes collaboration, encourages excellence, and celebrates the groundbreaking achievements of our scientists.
Upon completion of the Student Orientation, researchers are granted access to test anomalies within their security clearance level. While most new researchers enter at the Junior Researcher, those coming from other departments may bring valuable experience and expertise to the Scientific Department. Regardless of background, all researchers are held to the Department's high standards of professionalism, ethics, and scientific precision.
All information regarding promotions within the Scientific Department can be found in the Code of Conduct.
How you can conduct a test is by creating a testing document or chat. ScD Command and Foundation Enforcement have every right to refuse a test if they deem it unethical. Otherwise, you may conduct the test by going on-site and requesting a Combatant within BR, after of which you may conduct the test.
Test subjects are not required to be briefed before escorting, briefing is optional unless they've not been briefed in the past
This concludes the tutorial, hope you enjoy your time within the Scientific Department!
