The UConn Sci-Art Gallery seeks to showcase student-generated artwork, diagrams, and visual study aids pertaining to content spanning the sciences. UConn students can access numerous “galleries” curated by topic (biology, general chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics, psychology, and more) to see visual representations of the scientific concepts they read about in a textbook or learn about in lecture. This platform will serve as both a repository of visual resources and study guides as well as an outlet for students to bridge the arts and sciences. We hope to cultivate an inclusive online space that invites anyone—regardless of major or scientific background—to share their interpretations of breathtaking scientific processes at both the microscopic and macroscopic level. We seek to show that there is another world out there for artists to explore.
