Praise: The COVID tests were all negative so we are cleared to fly tonight. We will be home tomorrow. Please pray for safe flights. Thank you!

There has been so many things to pray about in the last few weeks...I just haven't updated this for too long. Please pray that we finish our time here strong. We still have work to do over the next 24 hours so please pray that we will be able to accomplish some of the things we would like to do and that God would continue working on those things as well. Please pray for our safe travels and for our health. Zethan has been struggling with some infections. Please pray that these heal. He had to take a full week off of running and he is running right now as I type this. So praise the Lord, that he's been able to resume running. One of his infections has been in his knee. Our COVID tests are tomorrow and we really don't want to spend a few weeks in Nairobi.

Tirzah did very well during the night and didn't have anymore breathing problems. We are thankful!
8/22/2021
Praise God that Tirzah’s allergic reaction to something (probably a nut) at dinner was able to be stopped. Please pray that she will continue to do fine for the next 48 hours.
8/21/2021
Praise God that Abijah and my parents made it safely here. Please continue to pray for Abijah as he adjusts to the differences in the environment and the culture.
8/14/2021
Praise God that the churches were able to open last week! Please pray for my parents and Abijah as they travel here. They are currently in New York City and should arrive here tomorrow evening. Please pray that while they are here, they will make the connections with those God wants them to connect with and that they will be able to help at the hospital in ways that are helpful. Please pray for Abijah as he adjusts to the different environment and culture. Also, please pray that Abijah will return with his grandparents and Joah at the end of the month as planned. He has informed us that he may refuse to take the COVID test upon returning to the US so that the US will not allow him to leave Kenya. Also, Matt and I have been praying about possibly starting a couple of US organizations to help the hospital and some people in Litein. We do not want to commit to a task we are not capable of or invest time (when we tend to be busy already) in an area unless God wants us to. We would really appreciate your prayers about this. Perhaps, may be some of you would like to or may feel led to help us with them.
7/29/2021
Please pray that the Kenyan government will open the churches. It seems silly to have churches closed because there are still worship services going on everywhere, just not inside the literal organizations classified as a church. Also, we will be travelling to Nakuru and Naivasha this weekend for touring. We are praying for safe travels.
7/23/2021
Praise the Lord that the 17-year-old recovered and was able to return home. The hospital had multiple young patients die earlier this week in unrelated cases and Matt helped respond to the codes. It is difficult for him to watch little ones pass and also hard to watch their families grieve.
7/7/2021
Please pray for healing for the 17 year old eclamptic mother that Matt mentioned in his post.
6/26/2021
Praise that there is money available to help meet some of the needs of the hospital here. We have had an anonymous donor contribute a significant amount of money. Please pray that the process goes smoothly and quickly for getting this money through the appropriate channels and to Litein, and that the equipment that is chosen will fully meet the needs of the people here.
Please pray for the hospital as the COVID cases are increasing and that the staff would not be too fearful in caring for patients appropriately. Also, thank God that Zethan is completely better.
6/16/2021
Thank God that the medicine is working and Zethan is starting to recover.
6/14/2021
Please pray for Zethan. He is sick. Last night he woke up to a fast heartrate (154). He's not able to get his heartrate below 80. His resting heartrate is averaging mid 90s but if he stands he's at 130. He feels lethargic and around noon today he got a fever of 101.7. His stitches are healing nicely and do not look infected.
6/10/2021
Praise the Lord, the medicines were retrieved from customs and brought to the hospital here in Litein! Also, we are thankful for safe travels to Kericho today and for the ability to do what we went there to do.
6/9/2021
Please pray for us to form connections and relationships with others. Also, Amy and Tirzah and Mnason are travelling to Kericho tomorrow...so for safe travels...and that we can accomplish our task.
6/8/2021
Please pray that we do not acquire any infectious disease from working in the hospital.
6/7/2021
Please pray that Zethan's side heals. After his stitches from the USA were removed the incision opened and was reclosed.
6/4/2021
We are thankful that we and our luggage and the equipment arrived safely. Please pray that we can retrieve the medicine bag from customs.
6/1/2021
Please pray that our travels go smoothly, that all of our luggage arrives safely in Kenya, specifically that the medicines and machines do not break.
