I am a full Professor at the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt. I am also a visiting full Professor at the Tel Aviv University and a visiting full Professor at the Hebrew university of Jerusalem. I am the head of Analytics Based Cybersecurity research area in ATHENE, the federal national research center for applied cybersecurity, and a representative for Goethe-Universität Frankfurt in ATHENE Board.

My goal is to make the Internet secure. I research all aspects of systems and network security, explore vulnerabilities in the Internet infrastructure and services, and design defences using tools from various research areas, such as machine learning, program analysis, fuzzing, algorithms. 

Awards I received for my research, include the Checkpoint award, ICANN fellowship, IETF/IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize, Microsoft Azure Research Award. Scientific community service


I am co-chairing CODASPY 2024 and ARES 2024. I chaired ESORICS 2021 with Elisa Bertino. In 2020 I organised and co-chaired with Radia Perlman the first ACM SIGCOMM workshop on traffic manipulation attacks.  In 2020 I also co-chaired CANS 2020 with Serge Vaudenay, in Wien, Austria.

I serve on program committes of security conferences. This year on USENIX Security 2021, ACSAC 2021, ASIACRYPT 2021, USENIX Security 2022, ACM CCS 2022.


I am an associate editor for ACM Computing Surveys and on editorial board of ACM Transactions on Privacy and Security (TOPS).
