The assessment strategy for the 2022–23 board exams has undergone some recent changes and going forward, at least forty percent of questions in grades 9 and 10 of the class will be based on competency. Case-based, multiple-choice, source-embedded, or other types of questions can be used in these tests.

In addition, 20% of the questions in class ten final exams in 2022–2023 will be of objective type, while the remaining forty percent will be short or long answers. Questions based on competency asked for approximately 30% of Class 10, Quarter one, and Quarter two exams.

  • 40% of the questions were multiple choice.

  • 40% of the questions are subjective.

  • 20% are competency-based.

Examinations for the CBSE Class Twelfth Board in 2023

Similarly, at least 30% of the questions on the CBSE class twelve final exams must be based on competency. In addition, objective questions will receive a weight of 20%, while short or long-answer questions will receive the remaining 50%. In the past, 20% of the questions in the class twelve board exams were competency-based.
