Do you ever wonder what to do with all that data? This session will help you to transform those assessment results into actionable insights that drive more effective decision-making to maximize student outcomes! This session will focus on understanding and interpreting special education assessment data (including cognitive, achievement, and social emotional measures) in order to make more effective decisions in regards to recommendations and eligibility determination. During the session, participants will receive background information on the significance of educational statistics and how they inform decision-making. Attendees will explore various types of data and their respective scoring systems to gain a comprehensive understanding of their implications. Attendees will learn how to effectively share information and collaborate with other school team members and caregivers, fostering a well-coordinated and informed approach to addressing students' needs.

Synthesizing Educational Assessment Data Across Evaluators for Effective Eligibility Determinations

This session will help you weave together diverse data strands to unlock more effective eligibility determinations that best describe student needs! This session will focus on synthesizing special education assessment data in order to make more effective decisions in regards to recommendations and eligibility determination, with an emphasis on Educational Autism, Language Impairment, Emotional Disturbance, and Intellectual Disability. During the session, participants will have the opportunity to see case examples that provide a practical view of case conceptualization. Attendees will gain knowledge on how to identify patterns across assessment batteries, synthesize assessment data across evaluators, tease apart eligibility categories, and how to make more effective, data-based decisions.

Exploring Other Health Impairment & Strategies for Effective Special Education Assessment
When does this health condition become an educational disability? This session will help you to navigate the complexities of Other Health Impairment assessment with confidence! This session will focus on decoding OHI by diving into the critical factors and assessment practices that assist in determining eligibility. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the MO-DESE Other Health Impairment criteria with an emphasis on limited strength, vitality, and alertness. Attendees will explore a variety of assessment methods within RIOT/ICEL with an emphasis on student voice. Participants will gain confidence in navigating OHI assessment and eligibility determination through actionable tools and materials that can be readily applied to their professional roles.

WHEN DOES MENTAL HEALTH BECOME AN EDUCATIONAL DISABILITY?
Exploring Criteria and Strategies for Emotional Disturbance, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Behaviors
This session focuses on understanding when mental health becomes an educational disability in the K-12 setting. This session will unpack the state criteria of emotional disturbance, as well as strategies to support student mental health, including those with diagnoses such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder and challenging conduct behaviors. Attendees will gain knowledge in the current state of children's mental health, each of the five areas of emotional disturbance, social maladjustment and conduct behaviors, as well as supports across tiers to promote mental wellness.
