This project will be about the impact social media has in the world we live in.
When I took the addiction survey my results were: Fairly reliant on social media. This seems pretty accurate, I use social media everyday but I am confident I could go one or two days without it. I don't have a constant need to be on my phone. I actually would like to be less on my phone.
According to Pew Research Center, 54% of teenagers say it would be hard to give up social media. This is a surprising statistic to me because I actually believe it would have been much higher. I thought it would be up in the 70s. To be fair, I wonder how many think they can give up social media but they actually can not. I, myself, do not think I could give up social media completely.
Social media is a huge impact on the society. Personally, I grew up when not too much social media was a thing yet so I am able to compare it well. When I was in middle school, I think kids went out more and less on their phones. I don't think people are interacting with each other in person as much anymore. The pandemic also really had people focusing on social media as the only way of communicating. Also social media has a way of making things look better. The reality vs social media is very different. On the other side of things, Social media is also very positive in helping learn new things and news. The only way I see current news is through social media.
I learned how to change files to Gifs and audio files, which was really cool! I also learned the changes in which social medias are being used and which are dying out. Not only that but also learned how social media is impacting our society right now.
