School Counseling

Triway Campus

Missouri Comprehensive School Counseling Program Components:

School Counseling Curriculum: I plan to visit each classroom twice a month for Kindergarten to 4th grade and once a month for Pre-Kindergarten and 5th grade to 8th grade for counseling lessons. We will learn about emotions, self-regulation, self-esteem, strategies to be successful in school, resolving conflicts, cooperation, career exploration, and many other topics.

Individual Student Planning: I enjoy meeting with students to discuss their future plans and to assist them during times of transitions.

Responsive Services: I am also available to assist students through short-term individual counseling as well as small group counseling. I meet with individual students about things that are happening in their lives inside and outside of school. Although I do not provide therapy, I am here to support student success. I facilitate small groups related to friendship, familial change, feelings, grief, social skills, self-control, and other topics.

System Support: I am happy to support school-wide events, staff, and parents whenever possible.

As a professional school counselor I strive to impact student growth in three areas: Academic Development, Career Development, and Social/Emotional Development.
