Excellence scholarships for foreign students for vocational and technical training
These scholarships are intended for foreign students:
in vocational training: the main target is students from developing countries of Asia (China) and the Americas (Mexico, Brazil) as well as developing countries of the Francophonie who wish to pursue full-time studies in vocational training leading to a vocational studies diploma (DEP) or an attestation of vocational specialization (ASP).
in technical training: the same clientele as above is mainly targeted in the context of full-time studies in a technical training program leading to a DEC (college diploma).
These are doctoral, postdoctoral internship, and short-stay research or development grants for foreign students. These grants are administered by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Nature et technologies (FRQNT) and are reserved for students and researchers wishing to start or continue research activities in Quebec.
It is also possible to apply for scholarships offered by the federal government.
Some countries grant scholarships to their nationals who wish to study in Canada. To find out about the existence of these scholarships, consult the websites of the consulates and embassies of your country in Canada.
Many international organizations, such as the Agence Universitaire de la francophonie (AUF), offer scholarships to foreign students. It is impossible to list them all: consult the sites of Quebec universities that offer search engines to find out what scholarships are available to you according to your field of study.
Watch out for scams. Before you start, be sure not to pay for anything and everything. For example, companies may brag about helping you find the financial help you need, and charge you $ 1,000; this in and of itself is not illegal, but it becomes if it doesn't find… and keeps your money.
Financial Aid Office or education advisor. To find a scholarship yourself, you can first inquire at your school's “ Financial Aid Office ”, ask your education advisor.
