Our Mission Statement and history:
To ease the burden of private school tuition for children with disabilities and children who have lost a parent.
Scholarships for Hope was founded in memory of James R. Derbyshire Sr who was tragically taken from his family and friends too early. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, help a stranger in need and above all be there for anyone who just needed to talk. He valued his friendships created early on that lived on well past his Archbishop Ryan High School years. He also had a passion for anyone with disabilities, especially his cousin Gary and because of this we have set our charity up to help students who have lost a parent as well as students with disabilities. We know this would bring a smile to his face and warmth in his heart and in doing so will keep his memory alive within us all.

Scholarships for Hope respectfully requests a contribution to help continue to build upon the charity's success from our last 4 events where we were able to ease the tuition burden for 16 families since 2021. We accept Baskets, Silent Auction items, Cash Donations, and also an advertising option at our annual event that has 350-400 attendees. We set ourselves apart by personally selecting the recipients of our Scholarships through a carefully selected criteria established by our executive board members.. We require traceability of all funds, ensuring complete and direct award to selected families.
