Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) checklist


Step 1: Determine if PSEO is a good fit.

• Are you on track to graduate and willing to remove classes from your Online HS schedule?

• Do you meet the admission requirements for the college?

• Do you want to go to PSEO part-time or full-time?

• How will you get to PSEO? Bus or car?

• Are you ready for college level classes?

• Do your parent/s or guardian approve?


Step 2: Read the PSEO Reference Guide found at https://education.mn.gov/MDE/fam/dual/pseo/


Step 3: Check list of participating PSEO colleges https://education.mn.gov/MDE/fam/dual/pseo/040787, research PSEO college options, check application deadlines, and choose where you are going to apply.

Step 4: Notify school counselor in writing by May 30th of your intent to enroll in PSEO. This can be done by email or filling out the PSEO Notice of Student Registration below.


Step 5: Apply to your PSEO college/s of your choice.


Step 6: Gather the following documents:

• High school transcript showing cumulative GPA and class rank.

• PSEO Notice of Student Registration form signed by you, your parent, and your high school Counselor. This form is available at http://education.state.mn.us/MDE/fam/dual/pseo/ This form needs to be signed and submitted every semester.


Step 7: Accuplacer test: Due to Covid 19, check with the college if the test is needed.


Step 8: Mail or email the previous documents to the PSEO office or contact person at the college by the application deadline.


Step 9: Look at the Rigorous Course Catalog at https://www.spps.org/Page/39577 to plan your classes.


Step 10: Once admitted, set up an appointment with your school counselor to build your schedule for the following semester. Make sure you complete this step at least 2 weeks before your PSEO semester starts.


Step 11: Once PSEO semester starts, check-in frequently with your school counselor to ensure you are on track to graduate and to gather school specific information you are missing when you are not here.
