Practice Smarter, not harder!
Don't always start at the beginning. It's the end that people remember most.
30 minutes every day is better than 2 hours twice a week.
Have a goal! (example: I am going to fix that one note I always miss.)
No time? Sing your music in the car! Practice fingerings on your pencil!
Clap it, sing it, clap and sing, play it! (note: don't clap and play at the same time haha)
Can't remember what to do? Call or text me! I don't mind!!
Make practice a part of your daily routine, like brushing teeth. Start this right away.
Try to find a time to practice that works every day. I have my daughter practice after dinner.
Ask me for help! I am a mom, too! I understand that it can sometimes be a struggle. Let's work together to make sure practicing is not a negative experience.
Take note of your children's favorite songs (outside of lessons.) When I ask them what they like to listen to, so I can find something fun, it's rare that a kid will have something they can tell me. You can help fill me in!
Go to concerts, especially that feature your students instrument. You don't have to spend a fortune at the LA Phil. Even the local middle school concerts have worth, and may even seem more accessible to the kids.
Listen to lots of different kinds of music in the car and at home.
