Schau Family Daycare is owned and operated by Melissa Schau. Melissa has a B.A. from North Park University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to owning a home daycare Melissa worked as a nanny and has provided childcare services to hundreds of children in the Chicago area. Her experiences as a nanny inspired her to create an exceptional daycare service. Schau Family Daycare opened in 2007.

I believe in early learning. I work to promote school readiness skills, develop good manners and social skills, and to foster creative play. Children are taught to identify and comprehend numbers and the alphabet. They learn to count and recognize basic shapes and colors. Through music, stories, games and daily activities, children build language skills that will assist them when they begin reading.
I believe in the importance of raising children in a warm and nurturing environment. Children are encouraged in all their efforts and loved throughout the process.
I believe in teaching healthy eating habits early and the difference that nutritious foods can have on the health of our children. I strive to serve balanced meals and snacks that are free from added sugars and preservatives.
