"Education is the foundation of all we do in life. It shapes who we are and what we aspire to be." - Julie Payette
About Me
I began my teaching career in 2004 with Pittsylvania County Schools. I spent the first six years of my career teaching third grade at Kentuck Elementary School. In 2010, I transitioned to the gifted program, where I provide enrichment to students at multiple schools in grades kindergarten to eighth grade, utilizing various strategies and supporting high school gifted students. I have gained valuable administrative experience by serving as the summer school administrator at Chatham Middle School and as the Assistant Director of the Piedmont Regional Summer Governor's School for the past two years.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Averett University, a Gifted Education Endorsement from Averett University, a Master of Education: Curriculum and Instruction—Gifted Education from Liberty University, and an Educational Leadership Endorsement from Longwood University.
I was taught at a young age to work hard at everything I do, and that actions speak louder than words. I strive to exemplify these two values by maintaining a high expectation for myself, leading by example, and treating people with kindness and respect. I continually seek opportunities to continue my professional growth, as learning is a lifelong endeavor. I welcome new challenges and chances to grow.
